God's Adventure
When you turn your life over to God, it becomes A Great Adventure!
This photograph is of our 24-year-old daughter rock climbing in Bar Harbor, Maine, June 2005. When she sent us this photograph, I, like any other praying mother, wanted to drop to my knees. But to her it was an adventure: exciting, fun, scary, risky, dangerous, and challenging!!!
God is calling us to an adventure that is all of the above! We have been accepted to serve overseas with the International Institute for Christian Studies (www.iics.com), an organization that places Christian college professors in secular universities around the world. The professors teach their discipline and give students exposure to a Christian world view. My particular interest is Character Education (www.charactered.org), universal standards of right and wrong and promoting virtue, integrity, and character.
I have felt a call to work overseas for many years. The Great Commission of Jesus Christ shows that God expects us to reach out: "Go ye into all the world, to all nations, ...teaching them..."
If you look at this picture of our daughter, you will see that there are spotters down below. They are holding ropes connected to a harnass she is wearing. She could not climb this rock by herself, but has a team supporting her.
Are you willing to serve as our "spotters," to pray for us, and stay connected through this blog site? The students will need financial assistance in the form of books and supplies. Is your heart telling you to be a supporter or donor toward this ministry? Please respond! Lori Wiley
